The history of creation.
On September 19, 1991, the foundation of an international-class hotel complex took place by the joint Russian-Japanese enterprise Sakhalin-Tairiku.
The name of the Hotel was offered by the wife of one of the co-founders from the Japanese side, who came up with the idea to combine the first syllables of the island and at the same time the name of the company, Sa-khalin and the name of the company Ta-yriku. As a result, the Hotel “Santa” received a name and it was opened on April 3, 1993.
The hotel rooms were named after stones, a special symbol with which the Japanese showed their philosophy.
For the Japanese, the stone is a symbol of eternal beauty and spirituality.
So, the restaurant received the name “Rubin”, the bar – “Crystal”, the cigar room “Emerald” and the lodge hall – “Almaz”.
